Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-01-01 (Edit before launch)
1. What we collect
- Account data: your email address and a hashed password (bcrypt; we never store the password itself).
- Case data: the facts you enter about your situation — bank, closure dates, balances, rewards amounts, withheld funds, contact name/email used in letters.
- Billing data: Stripe processes payments. We store only the checkout session reference and your Stripe customer id — never card numbers.
- Risk-check answers: saved to your account only when you are signed in.
2. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data. Period.
- We do not contact your bank, credit bureaus, or any regulator on your behalf.
- We do not pull your credit report or bank statements; anything you enter is entered by you.
3. Where data lives
Case data is stored in an application SQLite database on the operator's server. Sessions use a signed, httpOnly cookie valid for 7 days. You can delete your account data by contacting support@bankshutdownrescue.example.com (Edit before launch); deletion removes your cases, letters, ledger, and risk-check history.
4. Third parties
Stripe (payments) receives the information necessary to process a purchase and is subject to its own privacy policy. No analytics or advertising trackers are embedded by the product itself.
5. Sensitive data guidance
Do not enter full account numbers, Social Security numbers, or online-banking credentials into the Service. Letters include placeholders for the details your bank actually needs, and you control what goes out.
